If you're a fan of the Drughorse Collective, then this is your weekend to be in Raleigh. The Love Language, whose sophomore CD "Libraries" is due out this summer, start things off on Thursday night at the Pour House. As you probably know, bandleader Stu McLamb has revamped LL's lineup, but half of his old band (along with half of Max Indian), will open the show with their new band The Light Pines. LL will also be at Nightlight in Chapel Hill on Saturday. And speaking of Max Indian, they're due to play Slim's on Saturday along with Ryan Gustafson. I still haven't seen Ryan, but Alex, who rarely steers me wrong, says he's amazing, so i'll be there to check it out.
During the day on Saturday, The Pit will be the place to be for Cuegrass. SCOTS, Old Habits,Jackass Flats and Sons of Ralph Duo are all scheduled to play.
As for the weekend's big metal show (Mastodon and Valient Thorr at Lincoln Theater), it is sold out, so if you don't have your tickets you are out of luck.
