Sad news about Lisa Cooper

David Menconi has the details on his blog about former Picasso Trigger guitarist Lisa Cooper, who died Sunday of lung cancer. I hadn't seen Lisa in years, but I remember her as one of the roughest, most bad-ass guitar players I've ever seen. She was an inspiration to me as a female player and as a musician. And she was super cool. She will be missed. UPDATE: Check out the video for Queenie, shot by Craig Zearfoss back in 1993!

Lisa was bad-ass on and off stage. She was a great friend and I enjoyed getting to know her. Unfortunately, we just kind of slipped away from each other about 15 years ago and I had no idea she was sick. Very sad.

She was an incredible guitarist. I loved going to PT shows in Raleigh and Chapel Hill, before the Cat's Cradle moved to its current location. I woul dhelp the band set up and thus sneak in the back door. Those were great times and Lisa was the type of person everyone wanted to be around. It was lots of fun back then.

Thanks for posting about her.

I remember Lisa as being such a real person she really never minded being diffrent. She knew she was.and just went for it. We both started playing guitar at around the same time and we used to call each other and play different guitar riffs to each other over the phone. I also lost contact with her maybe sixteen years ago. I googled her name hoping to get in touch and found this page . My condolances go out to her family. God bless and R.I.P. Lisa Cooper!
