Finally, most videos have been uploaded

I originally started this blog post by damning both youtube and Bryan Adams to Hell for all making me have to re-upload and re-link all my old videos, but then I decided to try and look on the bright side of things. Namely, I had a lot of old videos I'd totally forgotten that were stored on a long-dead server. Since I had the originals, I was able to upload them to Vimeo (which totally rocks), and now they're viewable again. I decided to play it save and not upload anything from well-known bands, or most of the old Cover-up footage. Where I've deleted photos, I've made note of it. I also was unable to find several videos I know I have, and made notes there too. Eventually I'm going to go back and search for anything local that's missing. In the meantime, if you want to see all my videos in one place, take a look here.

And mostly, I like it. But if I want to embed my video, I have to actually upgrade to a plus account (one that's not free). And I don't like that. I do like the fact that Vimeo allows me to have my own URL.
Anyway, I uploaded the Lonnie Walker video from the Great 8. What do you guys think?

Two blast-from-the-past videos

Thanks to Jessica for passing this along. Local blog rduwtf.com has links to two N.C. music documentaries from days gone by. One is a Fox News report on the 1990s Chapel Hill scene. The other is the 1984 documentary on local punk. Both feature a lot of people you probably know.

More local videos -- and Sharon Jones/Chocolate Drops news!

Turns out I wasn't the only videographer (and I use the term loosely) at Troika Fest. Bonnie from Sequoya made videos of Midtown Dickens and NonCannon, and apparently Ross Grady got at least one of Maple Stave. Check out Bonnie's Youtube channel. Check out Ross' Youtube channel. New Van Halen cartoon from the N&O

In honor of the group's upcoming shows in the state this week, N&O cartoonist Grey Blackwell, the same guy who did the Coach K spoof and the presidential Law & Order send-up, created a new cartoon lampooning Van Halen. Check it out!

Make a video for Beloved Binge

The Durham duo Beloved Binge is seeking help making a video for their new song, "(Got) Married on Myspace," which will be on their upcoming Jerry Kee-produced CD, "Porch Life." Eleni explains a little of what they're looking for:
